One of the best view locations perched high above the Chateau Montelena Vineyards in Calistoga, California, Hillcrest Country Inn overlooks several of Napa's famous destinations. Watch the Calistoga Geyser from your own balcony view…as you comfortably rest at the inn, or outside enjoy balloon rides starting less than a mile away, as they drift over the valley in the morning!
Hillcrest Country Inn's winding 1/4 mile driveway leads up to the main house, where we enjoy spectacular views from a setting of Napa Valley, vineyards
and surrounding mountains. It's the perfect place to hike, sunbath, or
just relax in the lush landscape of native trees, flowering shrubs,
bamboo and palms. You can hike in the hills for 10 miles in complete
solitude without a trace of civilization. There are great vistas and
bird watching from the hillsides. Our small lake is stocked with bass
and catfish and great for fishing, swimming, a rowboat ride or picnic on its grassy shoreline. Far from city lights we offer awe-inspiring views
of starry night skies. Built in 1960, Hillcrest Country Inn was the
ranch home to the larger Chateau Montelena Vineyard, owned by
State Senator Alfred Tubbs, my great great Grandparents, at the turn of
the century - an early Californian family in Napa Valley's history. Our family ran the vineyards for nearly 100 years.
We take great pleasure in continuing our family's tradition of fine country entertaining. Enjoy sweeping views of the valley and mountains beyond as you relax in the indoor lounge, gather around the Steinway grand piano, or dine at a 12 foot long heirloom table set with elegant china and century old silver. We've equipped our anytime continental breakfast bar with a toaster, microwave and pots for coffee and hot water – and there's an assortment of cereals and beverages to choose from. Breakfast served from (9:30 to 11:00 am on the weekends and holidays. Guests staying Sunday through Thursday may request breakfast for an additional $25 per night for two. We are a pet friendly Bed & Breakfast Inn. 
Enjoy a full breakfast each weekend that includes a choice of natural foods, fruit plate, raspberry filled turnovers, organic sauce, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, granola, muffins or toast. Sunday morning favorite vegetarian cheese frittata. Special orders may be made in advance. The refrigerator in the guest kitchen dispenses filtered water and ice, and you may use it to store food and beverages as needed. Help yourself to drinking glasses, dishes and bottle openers kept in the main dining room. If you use our family kitchen or the outdoor bar-b-que to prepare your meals, please clean up after use. For outdoor dining, we ask that you supply your own disposal dishes and utensils, as well as charcoal briquettes and lighter fluid. All guests have 24-hour access to backyard lounge and recreation areas, including a patio, barbeque, and community recycling container. Hillcrest Country Inn supports a healthy planet and environment friendly practices. Our efforts toward green living include buying organic produce and using other healthful ingredients in preparing your meals whenever possible. We also use green laundry, cleaning and lighting products.

GREAT ESCAPES NOT FAR FROM HILLCREST
• From Hillcrest property the Bay Area is 90 minutes, Santa Rosa 30 minutes, and St. Helena 20 minutes away. Visitors to the Hillcrest Country Inn are just 2 miles north of Main Street downtown Calistoga, in Napa Valley Wine country. There is a lot to see and do, from hiking and biking to shopping in quaint shops to fine dining and wine tasting, tennis, golf, balloon, glider and helicopter rides, horseback riding, spas, bike rentals, massages, mud baths, Calistoga Old Faithful Geyser and Petrified Forest are nearby.
Short Drives may be planned from Hillcrest Country Inn just 5 miles north on CA-HWY29 to Robert Louis Stevenson State Park, where a 5-mile trail brings you to the top of Mount St. Helena to see San Francisco and on clear days Mount Shasta. Or, you can drive to the Pacific Coast Highway near Jenner by taking Petrified Forest Road from CA-HWY128, just north of Calistoga. After 4 miles, turn right at Porter Creek Road to Mark West Spring Road and then, River Road/CA-HWY116 to oceanfront CA-HWY 1. This usually takes about an hour.

kind of quirky and its got TONS of character, Debbie and her husband are
warm and kind...their 2 dogs always greeted me and you can totally kick
back or walk around the gorgeous property overlooking the valley. I
traveled there alone and felt really comfortable. good sleep, hot shower
and hot coffee, fine with me."
